Stars of the Sky and Dancing Watersby TR Tulley and KC Clark[2004, 2005. Orem, Utah: Balanced Families, 32 pages, paperback.] [Review first published in Midwifery Today Issue 77, Spring 2006, © 2006, Midwifery Today, Inc. Review by Cheryl K. Smith.] These two books were written by TR Trulley, a midwife, and colorfully illustrated in watercolor by KC Clark. Stars of the Sky is a story of a mother describing to her twins their homebirth, and is a sweet way to introduce children to normal birth. Dancing Waters tells the story of a family who choose a doula and waterbirth in a hospital setting. I really liked the subtle inclusion of people of color and with disabilities in the books. These books should be in every library; together they provide a gentle introduction to different settings for normal birth, in a way that will interest children.
